How to get to us
There is no public transport directly to Kawakawa Station Walk, but access is easy by car or shuttle from nearby towns. Pop our address into Google Maps for directions, or follow the details below. We’re at 2631 Cape Palliser Road, Cape Palliser.
FROM WELLINGTON
Drive north on State Highway 2 over the Remutaka Hill to Featherston, then follow the signs to Martinborough (turn right just before the Mobil). The trip to Martinborough from Wellington will take approximately 1.5 hours. Martinborough is the perfect PLACE for a stop before you drive the final 50 minutes to us.
FROM MARTINBOROUGH
From Martinborough, it’s approximately 50 minutes to Kawakawa Station. Make your way around Martinborough Square, exiting at Jellicoe Street. Follow Lake Ferry Road for approximately 15 minutes, then turn left onto Cape Palliser Road and continue until you reach Kawakawa Station. Our walk entrance is clearly signposted. Secure parking is available at the start of the trail - park outside the Farm Cottage in the paddock.

BY TRAIN & SHUTTLE
Take the Wairarapa Line from Wellington to Featherston Station. From there, pre-book a local shuttle to Kawakawa Station (approx. 1 hour). Or, they can pick you up from Wellington Airport, and you can arrange for them to stop in Greytown or Martinborough on your way, for a spot of lunch or shopping.
