KAWAKAWA STATION

Established 1919

The iconic Kawakawa Station is one of the Wairarapa’s oldest Sheep Stations. Located along the South Wairarapa coastline with sweeping views across to the South Island, Kawakawa Station is 40 minutes from the bustling wine village of Martinborough, yet it truly feels another world away.

Our spectacular three-day walk offers breath-taking views of the rugged natural landscape of New Zealand high country, native bushland, a spectacular coastline, streams and crystal-clear braided rivers, all set amongst our working sheep station. The walk is fully catered with comfortable lodgings that are unique to Kawakawa Station, and all have their own story to tell. For more details check out our Station Walk page.

If you wish to experience something special at Kawakawa Station, try sleeping under the stars in our gorgeous ‘Star Gazer’ Lotus Belle Glamping Tent. Surrounded by native bush in a private setting you’ll enjoy all the comforts and amenities, including a well-appointed kitchen and bathroom complete with an outdoor bath.
